Roger Adams, Jeremy Jenkins, and Trevor Peterson were honored recently at the "H"
Association Annual Meeting and Banquet in Hallsville.Coach Adams, who worked at Hallsville from 1995-2005 and was Head Coach
from 1998 - 2004, was inducted into the Bobcat "Hall of Fame" by Coach David Plunk. Plunk said Adams coached him
in high school, hired him at HISD and
has helped him many times throughout his career. Adams' Bobcat football
teams won 45 games in 7 years, a record as Head Coach in Hallsville. He had one tri-district championship and was in playoffs
three times.
Chairman of the Board, James Greer, announced that Neal Denton will be
the president next year. Wilbur Ingram presided this year.
Jeremy
Jenkins is Hallsville's total win leader in baseball with 32 victories from 2001-2004. He also holds most of the Bobcat
pitching records. His honors include: All-
District, All East Texas, All State, and All American. He pitched for Grayson County Junior college and Southern Arkansas
where he was 19-6, and completing his degree this spring, was inducted by Coach Scott Mitchell who also spoke about Roger Adams.
David Plunk announced the selection of Trevor Petersen
as "H" Athlete of the Year for 2009. Petersen was top pitcher in the district last year with 11 wins, is undefeated this year in baseball, and was 2nd team All-District in football.
