JOHN THOMPSON graduated from Alma High School, Arkansas and Ouachita Baptist University where he received the honor of All-American Receiver. He is entering his 17th year of coaching and his fourth as head girls’ basketball coach at Hallsville High School. He is a 9th grade football assistant. He earned the honor of 2003 Teacher of the Year at Tatum ISD. He and his wife Michelle have two daughters Taylor, 16 and Tiffany, 8. His favorite pastimes are hunting, fishing, and paintball.

BRIAN GREER is the coach of the 9th grade volleyball team and girls basketball assistant. Brian is a graduate of LeTourneau University and has been coaching 20 years. He teaches World History at the high school. He and his wife, Lori, have a daughter, Hannah, 11, and one son, Benjamin, 8.  He enjoys activities with his family, church and all sports.

 CHAKA JACKSON, a Hallsville High School graduate of the Class of 2000, is also a graduate of East Texas Baptist University where she was a two year volleyball lettermen and was honored at 1st Team All Conference in volleyball and she also served as a graduate assistant. She teaches E20/20 at Hallsville High School and is the varsity assistant volleyball and freshmen basketball coach. She has been teaching and coaching for five years, previously in Henderson ISD as head volleyball coach.   She has been selected as Distinguished Teacher and Who’s Who among American Teachers. Her husband, Jabori, teaches and coaches at Marshall High School. They have one daughter, Trinity, 2 months old and one son, Trent, 6 months.

DEMETRA CARTER is beginning her coaching career as the head 7th grade girls’ basketball coach and varsity assistant track coach. Demetra graduated from New Diana High School where she was recognized with awards in basketball, volleyball and track. She was a Regional Qualifier in the 100 m dash and honored as Lady Eagle of the Year. She attend Kilgore College and is a classroom aide at Hallsville High School. Her favorite pastime is playing basketball, reading and relaxing.
