DARRIN GLEGHORN

Parents, community members and basketball players welcomed Hallsville High School's new head boys' basketball coach, Darrin Gleghorn. To a crowd of 75, He presented  his personal philosophy as well as his basketball philosophy and expectations for the upcoming year. Coach Gleghorn is coming from Woden ISD where he was a teacher and the head boys' basketball coach for 17 years. During that time he led his team to 12 District Championships and made 16 playoff appearances. He is a graduate of Stephen F. Austin State University, attended school in Kilgore and has coached for total of 21 years. He is married and has one child.

  Kevin Ivy

Coach Gleghorn also introduced the new assistant boys' basketball coach for Hallsville High School, Kevin Ivy. Coach Ivy is leaving Onalaska High School as head boys basketball coach. He previously coached with Coach Gleghorn in Woden and will be the coach of the Junior Varsity team at Hallsville High School as well as assisting with varsity.

 

Drew Barkley

Drew Barkley served as the interim head coach in 2007-08 and did an outstanding job and assisted in 8th grade football. Coach Barkley will be the freshmen basketball coach. He also teaches Algebra I and Geometry at Hallsville High School. Drew is a graduate of Whitehouse High School and East Texas Baptist University. He previously was the admissions counselor at ETBU. Drew is single and enjoys playing basketball and golf. 

 

Thomas Holson

Thomas Holson is a graduate of East Texas Baptist University and Carthage High School and earned the honor of Eagle Scout. He is the eighth grade assistant football coach, head eighth grade boys’ basketball coach,  assistant track coach and he teaches health at Hallsville Junior High School. He is married to Kimberly Holson and his favorite pastime is playing table tennis.
